Basketball Recap: Keys Gate's Win Ends Nine-Game Losing Streak at Home

Florida Christian came into Tuesday's game looking for another win against Keys Gate, but Essence Deleon wouldn't allow it. The Keys Gate Knights blew past the Florida Christian Patriots, posting a 67-17 victory thanks in part to Deleon, who almost dropped a triple-double on 21 points, nine boards, and 15 steals. Deleon is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season.

Keys Gate's win ended a nine-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-6. As for Florida Christian, their loss was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-6.

Keys Gate wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 49-37 defeat against Palmer Trinity on the 19th. As for Florida Christian, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Immaculata-La Salle at 5:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
