Basketball Recap: Duluth Comes Up Short

Duluth was the 70-62 winner over Meadowcreek when they last played one another two weeks ago, but their luck changed this time around. The Duluth Wildcats fell just short of the Meadowcreek Mustangs by a score of 55-53 on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Wildcats have suffered since February 7, 2024.

Meadowcreek got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Fred Williams out in front who posted ten points and seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jayson Fleming, who went 5-for-11 to rack up 18 points.

Duluth has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which has put a noticeable dent in their 16-12 record this season. As for Meadowcreek, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 20-8 record this season.

Duluth does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Meadowcreek, they are taking a road trip to take on West Forsyth on Wednesday. Meadowcreek is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.5 points per game this season.
