Football Game Preview: Hemphill Hornets vs. Joaquin Rams

The Hemphill Hornets will head out to challenge the Joaquin Rams at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hemphill has given up an average of 40.3 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Hemphill's offense might be in the hot seat on Friday considering what happened against Timpson on Friday. They were dealt a 55-0 loss at the hands of the Bears. While losing is never fun, the Hornets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 1073rd, while the Bears are ranked 523rd).

Meanwhile, Joaquin came up short against San Augustine on Friday and fell 28-21.

Although Joaquin took the loss, they still got scores from Cooper Bragg, Amarion Wilson, and Conner Rios.

Joaquin's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Hemphill, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5.

Hemphill suffered a grim 52-26 defeat to Joaquin in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Can the Hornets avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
