Basketball Recap: Timber Creek Proves Higher State Rank Is No Mistake

It may have taken double overtime to finish the job, but Timber Creek ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They secured a 43-39 W over the Keller Indians. Given the Falcons' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 158th, while the Indians are ranked 395th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Among those leading the charge was Jillian Topping, who went 5 of 10 en route to 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Krisi Willis, who posted nine points.

The win made it two in a row for Timber Creek and bumps their season record up to 20-10. As for Keller, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-16 record this season.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing V.R. Eaton the next time they take the court. Timber Creek will host V.R. Eaton at 5:45 p.m. on Friday, while Keller will head out to face them at 5:45 p.m. on February 4th.
