Baseball Recap: Perry Central Wins Going Away Against Tylertown

Perry Central won the last time they faced Tylertown and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Bulldogs put the hurt on the Chiefs with a sharp 17-6 victory. With that win, the Bulldogs brought their scoring average up to 6.4 runs per game.

Austin Jones was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Perry Central is undefeated when Jones posts three or more RBI, but 4-11 otherwise. Jace Hill was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

Jones wasn't the only one working in the home run department: Perry Central lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

The victory made it two in a row for Perry Central and bumps their season record up to 7-11. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.5 runs over those games. As for Tylertown, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-11.

Looking ahead, Perry Central will be playing at home against Hattiesburg at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tigers have averaged an impressive 7.6 runs per game this season.
