Softball Recap: Gray Stone Day Comes Up Short

Gray Stone Day was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the North Stanly Comets, falling 18-3. That's two games in a row now that the Knights have lost by exactly 15 runs.

Gray Stone Day saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lynley Pittman, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Gray Stone Day's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for North Stanly, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season.

North Stanly will challenge East Rowan at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Mustangs' pitching crew has only allowed 1.9 runs per game this season, so the Comets' hitters will have their work cut out for them. Gray Stone Day will be paying especially close attention to North Stanly's game: after North Stanly faces off against East Rowan, they'll take on Gray Stone Day again at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
