Football Recap: Uvalde Comes Up Short

Uvalde fell victim to Fredericksburg and their airtight defense on Friday. They were outmatched by the Billies and fell 31-0. The contest marked the first time this season in which the Coyotes/Lobos (for girls) were not able to get on the board.

Fredericksburg's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kress Mohr led the charge by throwing for 126 yards and two TDs, while also rushing for 52 yards and one touchdown. Aaron Cantu was another key rusher, rushing for 122 yards and one score on only 15 carries.

Uvalde is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-3. As for Fredericksburg, the win made it two in a row for them and also bumps their season record up to 2-3.

Looking ahead, Uvalde will be playing at home against Somerset at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs' defense has only allowed 14 points per game this season, so the Coyotes/Lobos (for girls)'s offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Fredericksburg, they will take on Canyon Lake at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
