Volleyball Recap: Goddard Takes a Loss

Goddard lost against Northwest back in September of 2021 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Lions took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Grizzlies.

While Goddard ultimately came up short, they really made Northwest work, particularly in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 26-24, 25-16.

When it comes to explaining why Goddard lost, don't look at Talyn Thul. Despite the final result, she had 14 digs and two assists. Thul has been hot recently, having posted 11 or more digs the last three times she's played.

Northwest can attribute much of their success to Reese Johnson, who had 16 digs and two aces.

Goddard's loss dropped their record down to 13-19. As for Northwest, the win (which was their 14th in a row) raised their record to 28-6.

Goddard has already played their next contest, a 2-1 defeat against Andover on the 18th. Northwest does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
