Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask The First Academy). They blew past the Leesburg Christian Prep Eagles, posting an 86-26 victory. Given the Royals' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 196th, while the Eagles are ranked 451st), the result on Tuesday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Leading The First Academy to victory were Max Simmons and Nash Barfield. Simmons went 8 of 10 on his way to 19 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals, while Barfield went 9 for 12 on his way to 19 points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Corey Capps, who went 5 of 8 on his way to 13 points.

The First Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 23 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

The First Academy's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Leesburg Christian Prep, they moved to 4-3 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.
