Soccer Game Preview: Mendota vs. Morro Bay

The Mendota Aztecs will venture away from home to face off against the Morro Bay Pirates at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Mendota will head out to face Morro Bay after giving up their first home loss of the season last Monday. Mendota fell just short of Sunnyside by a score of 2-1.

Meanwhile, Morro Bay has been on a difficult stretch since their win on the sixth. They and Liberty finished up their match with a 0-0 draw on Saturday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Pirates as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Mendota's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-3-2. Morro Bay's draw makes their record 1-6-1 this season.

Everything went Mendota's way against Morro Bay in their previous meeting back in November of 2021, as Mendota made off with a 4-1 win. Will Mendota repeat their success, or does Morro Bay have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
