Volleyball Recap: Whitman-Hanson Regional Gets the Win

Whitman-Hanson Regional won the last time they faced Silver Lake Regional and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Panthers put the hurt on the Lakers with a sharp 3-0 win.

Whitman-Hanson Regional never let Silver Lake Regional on the board, but things got pretty close in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 27-25, 25-12, 25-20.

Nguyen Vo was nothing short of spectacular: she had 18 digs and six aces. Those six aces gave her a new career-high.

They weren't the only good server: Whitman-Hanson Regional was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 14 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least 12 aces every time they've taken the court this season.

Silver Lake Regional's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Isabella Manikas, who had eight assists and six digs, and Rose Meehan, who had four digs and three aces.

Whitman-Hanson Regional's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Silver Lake Regional, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Whitman-Hanson Regional has already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Duxbury on the 15th. As for Silver Lake Regional, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 defeat against Marshfield on the 15th.
