Basketball Recap: Pontchartrain Christian Homeschool Starts Season with Loss on the Road

Pontchartrain Christian HomeSchool had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They fell 66-53 to the Muddy River HomeSchool Counselors on Saturday. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it four in a row.

Sun Michael Williams produced another solid effort almost dropping a double-double with 40 points and nine boards for Muddy River HomeSchool. That makes it four consecutive games in which Williams has scored at least a third of the Counselors' points. Another player making a difference was Mark Johnson, who posted seven points along with eight assists and seven rebounds.

The win made it two in a row for Muddy River HomeSchool and bumps their season record up to 4-1.

Coming up, Muddy River HomeSchool will face off against Hattiesburg HomeSchool at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Counselors' defense better be ready for this one: the Forerunners have averaged an impressive 67.3 points per game this season. Pontchartrain Christian HomeSchool will be paying especially close attention to Muddy River HomeSchool's matchup: after Muddy River HomeSchool faces off against Jackson HomeSchool, they'll take on Pontchartrain Christian HomeSchool again at 7:00 p.m. on December 13.
