Softball Recap: Mifflin County Comes Up Short

Mifflin County lost against Cumberland Valley back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Huskies lost 12-5 to the Eagles. The Huskies' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it four in a row.

Riley Hine was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Those RBI were her first of the season. Malaina Maxwell was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Mifflin County's loss dropped their record down to 1-5-1. As for Cumberland Valley, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-1.

Coming up, Mifflin County will venture away from home to square off against Cedar Cliff at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Cumberland Valley, they will welcome Central York at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (the Eagles have won four straight at home, while the Panthers won three straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
