Basketball Recap: Bethel Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Bethel Christian Academy and Greenville Christian Academy squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Bethel Christian Academy had to settle for second. The game between them and the Greenville Christian Academy Knights didn't end well, with the Bethel Christian Academy Trojans falling 56-42. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Knights this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 51-46 last Thursday.

Matthew Dove was his usual excellent self, putting up 16 points and five steals for Greenville Christian Academy. Those five steals gave Dove a new career-high. Connor Dial was another key player, posting ten points and five boards.

Bethel Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 9-16. As for Greenville Christian Academy, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 21-11.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bethel Christian Academy will square off against Hilltop Christian on Monday. One thing working in Hilltop Christian's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five contests. As for Greenville Christian Academy, they will venture away from home to square off against Liberty Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Greenville Christian Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.3 points per game this season.
