Cupertino was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last match, but they sure didn't let that happen against Lynbrook on Thursday. The Pioneers put the hurt on the Vikings with a sharp 8-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Pioneers, who have now won five games by eight runs or more so far this season.

Cupertino now has a winning record of 7-6-1. As for Lynbrook, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-10.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cupertino will take on Monta Vista at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lynbrook, they will face off against James Lick at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Comets have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.57 runs per game on average), something the Vikings will no doubt try to take advantage of.
