Baseball Recap: Western International Takes a Loss

Western International was the 4-1 winner over Brighton when they last played one another on Saturday, but their luck changed this time around. The Cowboys took a 9-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bulldogs on Saturday.

Julian Contreras was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Another player making a difference was Emilio Zuniga, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Western International's defeat dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Brighton, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 6-5 record.

Looking ahead, Western International will host Mumford at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cowboys are facing the Mustangs at the right time seeing as the Mustangs are stuck on an eight-game losing streak. As for Brighton, they will take on Novi at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
