Spring Garden and Cedar Bluff are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2020, but likely not for long. A feisty cat fight will be fought as the Panthers face off against the Tigers at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Spring Garden has now lost 12 straight dating back to last season, leaving the team hunting for their first win since March 21.

On Friday, Spring Garden didn't have quite enough to beat Collinsville and fell 2-1.

Meanwhile, Cedar Bluff lost 19-9 to West End on Friday. The loss was the Tigers' first of the season.

Cedar Bluff saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Isaac Bishop, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Another was Samson Mallett, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Even though they lost, Cedar Bluff always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .545 or higher in three consecutive contests.

Having lost for the first time this season, Cedar Bluff fell to 4-1. As for Spring Garden, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.

Spring Garden suffered a grim 8-2 defeat to Cedar Bluff when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can Spring Garden avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
