Newton barely beat Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Newton blew past Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City 14-6 on Friday. With that win, the Eagles brought their scoring average up to 8 runs per game.

Newton let Gavin Meinhart and Drake Wolf run wild. Meinhart scored three runs while going 3-for-4, while Wolf scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits Wolf has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Kohlten Barthelme, who went 3-for-5 with three RBI and one double.

They weren't the only ones working in the hit department: Newton kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

The victory got Newton back to even at 2-2. As for Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.
