Softball Recap: Harrells Christian Academy Takes a Loss

Wayne Christian hit Harrells Christian Academy with a six-run fifth inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Crusaders came up short against the Eagles, falling 11-1. The Crusaders have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost meeting.

Breelyn Peed was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. She struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up three earned (and eight unearned) runs off 12 hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one triple and one run.

Harrells Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Wayne Christian, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-6.

Looking ahead, Harrells Christian Academy will face off against Wilmington Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Wayne Christian, they will challenge Faith Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
