Baseball Recap: Park View Takes a Loss

Park View had lost nine straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 0-9 to make it ten. They came up short against the John Champe Knights, falling 26-0. Having soared to a lofty 15 runs in the game before, the Patriots' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

As for John Champe, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 10-3. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

For John Champe's part, Sam Keethler was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, Keethler posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Ben Marshall was incredible, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with three runs, four RBI, and one double. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Josh Wallace was another key player, going 3-for-5 with five runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Park View has already played their next match (against Potomac Falls), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. John Champe will be paying especially close attention to the Patriots' game: after the Patriots face off against the Panthers, they'll take on John Champe again at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
