Volleyball Recap: Oakwood Comes Up Short

Oakwood lost against Salt Fork back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Comets took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Storm.

Oakwood was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-21.

Loss or not, Oakwood got some senior leadership from Sophia Hart and Kendyl Rogers. Hart had 16 digs, while Rogers had 14 digs.

Oakwood has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-16 record this season. As for Salt Fork, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 15-7.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Oakwood is set to square off against their familiar foe Georgetown-Ridge Farm at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Salt Fork will challenge rival Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
