League recap: Western Christian scores huge upset over Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn

The biggest upset of the week belonged to Western Christian, who took down 92nd ranked Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn, 39-21.

South O'Brien took down Okoboji 52-7 last week, the largest margin of any game.

The Pioneers' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Jordan Hanna threw for 70 yards and Westen Burgeson had 33 yards receiving. On the ground Burgeson chipped in 26 yards. Keaton Jones helped Okoboji's passing attack out by catching one ball for 17 yards.

Parker Harms made the biggest impact on defense this week as Okoboji fell to the Wolverines. The 6-foot-0 senior recorded one fumble.

Okoboji's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Pioneers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Hanna has thrown for 341 yards this season, while Dalton Poppema has 10 catches for 124 yards. Gabe Goehring leads the league in rushing with 141 yards.

The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when South O'Brien takes on the Hawks. Mark Fuhrman's team has allowed 62 points this season, while Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn has given up 53.

The Wolves made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 8,977 from 10,250. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 39-21 victory over Steve Waechter's team last week.
