Basketball Recap: Uvalde Comes Up Short

Uvalde was the 58-54 winner over Comfort when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Uvalde Coyotes/Lobos (for girls) fell 54-47 to the Comfort Bobcats/Deer on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Coyotes/Lobos (for girls) can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 989th, while the Bobcats/Deer are ranked 477th).

Uvalde's defeat dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Comfort, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.

Uvalde will be home for the holidays to greet John F. Kennedy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Comfort, they will be taking part in a tournament against Bandera at 6:20 p.m. on Friday.
