            Softball Recap: Fitchburg Blue Raiders vs. Nashoba Regional Wolves        
        
		
        
        
            There's no place like home for Fitchburg, who bounced back after a  loss on the road  on Monday. They won by a  run and slipped past the Nashoba Regional Wolves  15-14. This was a revenge game for the Blue Raiders: when they faced off against the Wolves  back in April, they had to take a  14-10  defeat.

 Ivy Antocci made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound,   tossing five innings while giving up just two earned  (and three unearned) runs off   six  hits. Antocci was also stellar in the batter's box,  going 3-for-5 with three  runs and three  RBI. Those  three  RBI gave  her a new career-high.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Ella Kitchin, who  got on base  in all five of her plate appearances with one  home run, three  runs,  and three  RBI. Another player making a difference was  Alana Beauchemin, who  got on base  in four of her five plate appearances with two  runs, two  RBI,  and one  double.
 Fitchburg was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .382. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a  batting average of .333 or higher in five consecutive  matches.
Fitchburg has  been performing  well recently as they've  won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-8 record  this season. The  wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 13.8 runs over those games. As for Nashoba Regional, they now  have a losing record of 5-6.
 Coming up, Fitchburg will venture away from home to  challenge Shepherd Hill Regional  at 3:45  p.m.  on Friday. As for Nashoba Regional, they will host Leominster  at 4:00  p.m.  on Thursday.
