Football Game Preview: Apple Valley Sun Devils vs. Oak Hills Bulldogs + Official Tickets

The Apple Valley Sun Devils will venture away from home to face off against the Oak Hills Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Apple Valley's defense has only allowed 13.5 points per game this season, so Oak Hills' offense will have their work cut out for them.

Having struggled with three losses in a row, Apple Valley turned things around against Hesperia on Thursday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Scorpions a 14-0 shutout.

Meanwhile, Oak Hills' game on Friday was all tied up 14-14 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They enjoyed a cozy 28-14 victory over Serrano. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Bulldogs' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 45th, while the Diamondbacks are ranked 151st).

A big part of Oak Hills' win came down to the chemistry between Jacob Webster and his top target Royalton Allen. Webster threw for 214 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 17 passes while Allen picked up 116 receiving yards and two TDs. Allen's longest reception was for an impressive 61 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per catch total.

Oak Hills was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 255 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 172 rushing yards in five consecutive matchups.

The victory got Apple Valley back to even at 3-3. As for Oak Hills, their record now sits at 4-2.

Apple Valley ended up a good deal behind Oak Hills when the teams last played back in October of 2024, losing 30-14. Can the Sun Devils avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
