Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Bishop

Bishop entered their tilt with Calhoun on Thursday with two consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 6-1 win over the Calhoun Sandcrabs.

The team relied heavily on Addyson Salazar, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. What's more, she posted two hits, the most she's had since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Amanda Muniz, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Bishop hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts in 12 consecutive games dating back to last season.

Bishop's victory bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Calhoun, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 6-2.

Coming up, Bishop will be taking part in a tournament against Socorro at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Socorro will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something Bishop surely won't give up without a fight. As for Calhoun, they will challenge Centennial at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Calhoun is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.
