Volleyball Recap: Sultana Sultans vs. Apple Valley Sun Devils

Sultana was the 3-1 winner over Apple Valley when they last played one another back in September, but their luck changed this time around. The Sultana Sultans fell just short of the Apple Valley Sun Devils by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. The Sultans' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Sultana took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The final score came out to 25-7, 17-25, 14-25, 25-19, 15-5.

Even though they lost, Sultana was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 13 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least 13 aces in four consecutive matches.

Leading Apple Valley to victory were Alia Collins and Madelyn Eisenbrey. Collins had 12 digs and four aces, while Eisenbrey had 16 digs, five aces, and a kill. That's the most aces Eisenbrey has posted since back in September.

Sultana's defeat dropped their record down to 16-12. As for Apple Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 17-10.
