After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Faith Christian, Morning Star Academy was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They really took it to the East Moline Christian Eagles for the full four quarters, racking up a 45-13 win. The Mustangs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matches by 25 points or more this season.

Morning Star Academy found their leader in freshman Abigail Smith, who went 7 for 10 en route to 17 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Smith has scored all season. Violet Jewell was another key player, putting up four points along with ten boards and four blocks.

Morning Star Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in 13 consecutive contests.

Morning Star Academy is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 21.0 points over those games. As for East Moline Christian, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season.

Morning Star Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 43-29 victory against Unity Christian on the 7th. As for East Moline Christian, they will challenge First Baptist Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. First Baptist Christian will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something East Moline Christian surely won't give up without a fight.
