On Monday, Hatboro-Horsham beat Gwynedd Mercy Academy 9-6. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Hatters.
Hatboro-Horsham got a massive performance out of Madison Karpovich, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. That stolen base marked the first that Karpovich snagged this season. Maya Ravi was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Plymouth Whitemarsh). They never let Council Rock North get on the board and left with an 18-0 victory on Friday. With that win, the Colonials brought their scoring average up to 7 runs per game.
Rian Reed made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with five RBI, two doubles, and one run. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2024.
In other batting news, Maddie Swift was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those two runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kalina Childers, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Plymouth Whitemarsh was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .667. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .462 or higher in three consecutive games.
Hatboro-Horsham's victory bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Plymouth Whitemarsh, the win got them back to even at 4-4.
Hatboro-Horsham couldn't quite get it done against Plymouth Whitemarsh in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 as they fell 5-1. Can Hatboro-Horsham avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
