Bethel is 0-4 against South Kitsap since September of 2021 but things could change on Tuesday. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:15 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
On Wednesday, Bethel didn't have quite enough to beat Rogers and fell 3-2. While the Bison didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Rams 25-20 in the first set.
Bethel took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The match finished with set scores of 20-25, 25-20, 16-25, 25-18, 15-12.
Meanwhile, South Kitsap suffered their biggest defeat since November 16, 2024 on Wednesday. They lost 3-0 to Olympia.
While South Kitsap was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-12, 25-23.
Despite the loss, South Kitsap saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Natania Bauro had nine digs and two aces. Carly Lyons also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.
Bethel's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for South Kitsap, their loss dropped their record down to 6-4.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Tuesday's contest: Bethel has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 9.5 aces per game. However, it's not like South Kitsap struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.9 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
