Basketball Recap: Nute Rams vs. Pittsfield Panthers
The Nute Rams scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. In a tight contest that could have gone either way, they made off with a 63-62 victory over Pittsfield. The win was just what Nute needed coming off of a 66-43 loss in their prior match.
Several Panthers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Brayden Pelletier, who scored 31 points. That was a full 50% of Pittsfield's points, marking the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mike Casey, who scored 18 points.
Nute's victory bumped their record up to 4-11. As for Pittsfield, they dropped their record down to 1-14 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road.
Nute won't have much time to rest: their next game is against the Warriors at 6:30 p.m. on February 6th. Wilton-Lyndeborough is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak. As for Pittsfield, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Lakers at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in New Hampshire (Sunapee is ranked 82nd, while the Panthers are ranked 86th).
