Herriman fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Mountain Ridge on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Sentinels by a score of 15-13. On the bright side, the 13- run effort marked the Mustangs' highest-scoring matchup to date.

Ryker Renteria was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayson Thomas, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-6.

Herriman is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-6. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the defeats came by an average of only 1.33 runs. As for Mountain Ridge, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-3.

Coming up, Herriman is taking a road trip to challenge Corner Canyon at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
