Basketball Recap: Islip Comes Up Short

Islip lost against Mount Sinai back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Islip Buccaneers took a 70-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mount Sinai Mustangs.

It was another big night for Dominic Pennzello, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and 14 rebounds for Mount Sinai. The game was Pennzello's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Brian Vales, who posted 19 points and five boards.

Islip's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Mount Sinai, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-2 record this season.

Islip does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mount Sinai, they will challenge John Glenn at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Mount Sinai's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
