Softball Recap: Mountain View's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Mountain View came into Friday's contest having lost five straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They put the hurt on MMI Preparatory School with a sharp 19-9 victory on Friday. The Eagles' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Emma Thatcher was incredible, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run and three runs. That home run was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Izzy Hobart, who went 1-for-3 with three runs.

Mountain View's win bumped their record up to 2-6. As for MMI Preparatory School, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mountain View will venture away from home to take on Elk Lake at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Warriors will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something the Eagles surely won't give up without a fight. As for MMI Preparatory School, they will head out on the road to square off against Greater Nanticoke Area at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. The Trojans have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 14 runs per game on average), something MMI Preparatory School will no doubt try to take advantage of.
