Softball Recap: Juab Takes a Loss

If Juab was riding high fresh off their 13-4 takedown of Kanab on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Juab Wasps fell 8-3 to the South Summit Wildcats on Friday. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since May 7, 2022, but that streak is no more.

Dusti Draper was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run. The team also got some help courtesy of Hattie Corry, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

Even though they lost, Juab was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher in five consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Juab's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for South Summit, the win got them back to even at 3-3.

Looking ahead, Juab will square off against Millard at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for South Summit, they will face off against Kanab at 2:15 p.m. on Friday.
