Baseball Recap: Clover Garden School Wins Going Away Against Southern Wake Academy

The home team had won the previous five meetings between Clover Garden School and Southern Wake Academy, and Clover Garden School kept the tradition alive. The Grizzlies blew past the Lions 13-2 on Wednesday. The Grizzlies haven't had any issues with the Lions recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Kenon McCollum was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Brayden DeAlto, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4.

Clover Garden School was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .414. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Clover Garden School's victory bumped their record up to 5-9. As for Southern Wake Academy, they are on a 14-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Coming up, Clover Garden School will head out on the road to take on Bartlett Yancey at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Southern Wake Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Central Carolina Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Lions are facing the Eagles at the right time seeing as the Eagles are stuck on a six-game losing streak.
