            Volleyball Recap: Mendota Trojans vs. Streator Bulldogs        
        
		
        
        
            Mendota's tournament run continued when they took on Streator  on Saturday. The Trojans fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of  2-1. The Trojans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.
 In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Mendota sadly wound up on the wrong side. The final score came out to 25-19, 18-25,  25-21.
 Mariyah Elam paced Mendota's offense, picking up nine kills. Elam got some help from  Eva Beetz and her nine assists. Finally,  Elam was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high seven blocks.
Mendota's loss dropped their record down to 5-26-1. As for Streator, their victory  ended  a  three-match drought on the road  and  puts them at 16-14-2.
 Coming up, Mendota will take on Kewanee at 6:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. As for Streator, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next  match,  a  2-0  defeat against Annawan on the 18th.
