Baseball Recap: Goddard Takes a Loss

Goddard managed to slip by Salina Central the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Lions came up short against the Mustangs on Tuesday, falling 10-2. The Lions were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mustangs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Taylor Cape was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases. Adrian Ramirez also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Goddard dropped their record down to 3-11 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for Salina Central, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Mustangs beat Goddard by a score of 8-7 later that day.
