Socorro had already won nine in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.8 runs) and they went ahead and made it ten on Tuesday. They blew past the Coronado Thunderbirds 11-1. Considering the Bulldogs have won 20 matches by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Danielle Lozoya made a big impact no matter where she played. She tossed five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. What's more, she posted five strikeouts, the most she's had since back in February. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, Mia Dominguez was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Leilene Cardoza, who scored four runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3.
Socorro always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .581. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Coronado only posted an OBP of .222.
Socorro pushed their record up to 28-1 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.4 runs over those games.
