Basketball Recap: Damarcus Cobb Jr. and Darrion Lilly Secure Win for Weston Ranch

Weston Ranch won the last time they faced Edison and things went their way on Friday too. The Weston Ranch Cougars came out on top against the Edison Vikings by a score of 64-56. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cougars.

Weston Ranch was led to victory by Darrion Lilly and Damarcus Cobb Jr.. Lilly went 7 of 16 on his way to 21 points and seven boards, while Cobb Jr. went 5 for 8 en route to 15 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals. Cobb Jr. is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. Damien Rease was another key player, putting up nine points along with five rebounds and four steals.

Edison lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Isaiah Coilton, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and ten boards. Another player making a difference was Alonzo Ward, who posted 15 points.

Weston Ranch has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 78.4 points per game. As for Edison, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-10.

Weston Ranch wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 93-62 loss against St. Joseph on the 1st. As for Edison, they will venture away from home to square off against McNair at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. McNair will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Edison surely won't give up without a fight.
