Baseball Game Preview: Ridgeland Titans vs. Warren Central Vikings

For the second straight game, Ridgeland will face off against Warren Central. The Titans will be playing at home against the Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Ridgeland's pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so Warren Central's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Last Tuesday, Ridgeland came up short against Warren Central and fell 8-3. The Titans haven't had much luck with the Vikings recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

For Warren Central's part, Nathaniel Moore tossed a big game, striking out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. Moore has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Hayes Loper was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-4. What's more, he posted three RBI, the most he's had since back in February. Another player making a difference was Blake Caruthers, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Warren Central is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Ridgeland, their loss dropped their record down to 9-6.
