Softball Game Preview: Channelview Falcons vs. Kingwood Mustangs

Channelview is 0-9 against Kingwood since March of 2017 but things could change on Friday. The Falcons will head out on the road to take on the Mustangs at 6:30 p.m. Channelview has given up an average of 14 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Channelview is headed into Friday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their ninth straight game on Tuesday. They came up short against Humble, falling 21-2.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Mustangs on Tuesday. Kingwood was the clear victor by an 18-3 margin over North Shore. Kingwood might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten contests by seven runs or more this season.

Kingwood is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 14 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-3-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.4 runs over those games. As for Channelview, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-9.

Channelview suffered a grim 18-0 defeat to Kingwood when the teams last played back in March. Can the Falcons avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
