Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Columbus). They blew past the Burke Bulldogs 14-2 on Saturday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Discoverers considering their one-run performance the contest before.

Spencer Shotkoski looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Jack Holys was excellent, going 2-for-5 with three RBI and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Connor Cameron, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs.

Columbus kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Columbus' victory bumped their record up to 10-15. As for Burke, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 12 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-17 record this season.
