Basketball Game Preview: Patchogue-Medford Raiders vs. Riverhead Blue Waves

The Patchogue-Medford Raiders are taking a road trip to challenge the Riverhead Blue Waves at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Patchogue-Medford is headed into Tuesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game dating back to last season back in December of 2024. They were dealt a 58-29 defeat at the hands of Walt Whitman.

Meanwhile, Riverhead was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They had to suffer through a 64-34 loss at the hands of Walt Whitman.

Patchogue-Medford's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Riverhead, they now have a losing record at 2-3.

Everything came up roses for Patchogue-Medford against Riverhead in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, as the squad secured a 68-31 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Patchogue-Medford since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
