The Rockford Auburn Knights will take on the Harlem Huskies at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Rockford Auburn is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8 runs per game this season.
Having struggled with four losses in a row, Rockford Auburn turned things around against Boylan Catholic on Saturday. They put the hurt on the Titans with a sharp 22-5 victory. The Knights' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Maylee Baker made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over four innings pitched. Baker was also big at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, Emmie Ostergard was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with four runs, four RBI, and one stolen base. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Charlotte Proper was another key player, going 2-for-4 with six RBI and two runs.
Rockford Auburn always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .658. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Harlem sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-1 win over Guilford on Wednesday.
Like Rockford Auburn, Harlem also got a great game from a two-way player: Rylie Adams. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 11 over seven innings pitched. Adams has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one double and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Joslyn Agustin, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Harlem is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Rockford Auburn, their win bumped their record up to 15-10.
Rockford Auburn beat Harlem 6-3 in their previous matchup back in April. Will the Knights repeat their success, or do the Huskies have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
