Football Game Preview: Lakeside Dragons vs. Jefferson Area Falcons

The Lakeside Dragons will challenge the Jefferson Area Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with six consecutive losses for Lakeside and four for Jefferson Area.

Lakeside is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Madison on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Dragons took a blow against the Blue Streaks, falling 53-21. While losing is never fun, the Dragons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio football rankings (they are ranked 625th, while the Blue Streaks are ranked 164th).

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Jj Murphy, who threw for 308 yards and a pair of TDs. Lakeside's leading receiver Terry Brown was Murphy's top target yet again, picking up 97 receiving yards and one score.

Meanwhile, Jefferson Area came up short against Conneaut on Friday, falling 46-21.

Lakeside's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Jefferson Area, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.

Lakeside barely slipped by Jefferson Area in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, winning 21-20. Will the Dragons repeat their success, or do the Falcons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
