Baseball Recap: Dixon Comes Up Short

Dixon had lost six straight on the road, but on Wednesday they dropped down to 4-8 to make it seven. They came up short against the Destiny Christian Academy Lions, falling 13-5. The Rams were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Lions earlier this season, when they won 12-9.

Dixon saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Andrew Galindo, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Isacc Santos was another, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

As for Destiny Christian Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games.

On Destiny Christian Academy's side, Vincent Scott made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Scott was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-5 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Destiny Christian Academy got a massive performance out of Miles Ford, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those four RBI gave Ford a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of JT Santos, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

While Dixon had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:15 p.m. on Friday.
