Football Recap: Lakeside Takes a Loss

Lakeside extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to five on Friday, dropping them down to 0-4. They were outmatched by the Troy Trojans and fell 70-12. That's two games in a row now that the Knights have lost by exactly 58 points.

Troy's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Payton Christensen was nothing short of spectacular: he rushed for 66 yards and one TD, and also threw for 84 yards and three touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Hinder Hurst, who rushed for 86 yards and one score.

Coming up, Lakeside will challenge Coeur du Christ Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Knights' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Troy, they will host Wallace at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Trojans will need to watch out since the Miners have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
