Hayden was handed a 15-run defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Wednesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Columbia Academy Bulldogs, sneaking past 5-3.

Hayden's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-4. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Columbia Academy, they moved to 16-6 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.
