Softball Game Preview: Thrall Tigers vs. C.H. Yoe Yoemen

For the second straight game, Thrall will face off against C.H. Yoe. The Tigers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Yoemen at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Thrall has five straight victories, C.H. Yoe has five straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Last Tuesday, Thrall beat C.H. Yoe 6-1.

Miley Pokorny spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up 14 Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Mikayla Velasquez was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. Another player making a difference was Riley Luton, who went 2-for-3 with one home run.

Thrall hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are 6-1 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Thrall's win bumped their record up to 13-9. As for C.H. Yoe, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-12.

C.H. Yoe's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Friday. Thrall has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.4 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for C.H. Yoe, though, as they've been averaging only 2.7 strikeouts. Will Thrall keep running through batters, or will the Yoemen buck the trend?
